What you’ll learn

From the first hello at the stable to a new skill in the saddle, every lesson is a chance to understand your horse and grow as a rider.

More than riding

Confidence, one small step at a time

Getting to know a horse, practising a new skill and noticing your progress can help build confidence. There’s room to ask questions, try again and celebrate the little wins.

Along the way, you’ll practise patience, clear communication and caring for a horse—skills that make time at the farm rewarding, on the ground and in the saddle.

On the ground

  • Horse behaviour and communication
  • Safe handling, horse care and barn safety
  • Grooming, tacking and groundwork

In the saddle

  • Balance, alignment and coordination
  • Body awareness and effective aids
  • Riding skills matched to your level

Lesson formats

A little individual focus or the encouragement of riding together—find a way to learn that fits your current skills and what you’d like to work towards.

One rider · individual focus

Private

One-to-one attention for the rider’s learning goals, with time to ask questions and focus on the next skill.

A personal starting point for new riders, or space to work on something specific.

Two riders · shared progress

Semi-private

Shared instruction for two riders with compatible abilities and goals. Practise alongside a partner while developing your own riding.

Learn from each other’s progress and enjoy the encouragement of riding together.

Small group · shared experience

Group

Learn and practise alongside riders of a similar level, building on your skills in a shared arena.

Keep developing your independence, awareness and communication with your horse.

Semi-private and group lessons suit riders who can walk and trot independently and maintain safe control and spacing around others. Our team confirms placement based on ability, safety, compatibility and availability.
